5. i think it is both people's. the one that is the "victim" needs to wise up on how to handle their credit card and the person that steals it needs to understand that they are ruining peolpes lives.
I dont get how someone can take a debit card from no where this woman just said that she gets it out whenever. How can someone just rember a card number and stuff like that.If someone steals your identity they cannot buy stuff online so if they are in your area they have to go to stores tey cant buy stuff online because they have to put in there the security code and if they dont have it then they cant get stuff. I say always use credit card because there more protected and they if they get stolen and someone starts useing it the bank can give you back almost all the money you lost. why does the government not do anything if 8.3 million people get therer identity stolen the government should make it impossible to steal credit cards and other forms of payment.
ReplyDeleteA mistake this woman made first was always using her debit card. You can never really trust those around you. ID theft can be a pretty common problem these days because even though people know about identity theft they never really think that it could happen to them so they don’t take the precautions to prevent it. I suppose your social security number, bank account number, or even your pin number could all lead to identity theft. Some things that you could do to protect your identity would be not to give any information to anyone by the computer, even if it’s just your email address, and not to throw away any personal information without completely disposing of it. The person to blame would have to be both the person stealing the information and the victim. Those who steal the information really shouldn’t interfere with other peoples hard earned money, but on the other hand the victim shouldn’t be care free about what information the give out.
ReplyDelete1. she used her credit card reguarly and it might hav gone through a fruad machine. 2. with the internet and all the technology out, it is pretty easy for someone to do this. It also is easy for someone to gain access to other things if they can get only one of the important parts of someone's information. 3. To steal someone's identity all they need is a social security number, bank account info, or a credit card number. 4. Use actual money to make your purchases and dont give your information to anyone. also getting fraud alert and other forms of back up will help. Both, the person that stole it in the first place shouldnt have done it; but it is also the the person who didnt have protection or didnt take the precautions.
ReplyDelete1.She used her credit card way to much, and someone could have wrote the number down and made a replica. 2.Because people are not informed enough and do not take as carefull enough percausions as they should. 3. I thiink that someone would need you social security number, credit card number, and i suppose additional bank info. 4.Never share your bank info, or credit card and social security numbers. Also hide the keypad when typing in pin numbers. You should also try to use cash as often as possible and check your bank statment everymonth. 5. Both. I think the vicim needs to be more carefull with what they do and needs to be more alert. I also think the criminal needs to stop what they are doing and get a job. Tony Cononie
ReplyDeleteThe woman was always using her debit card to buy everything. Someone could have hacked it online if she bought things. Identity theft is a common problem because many people are in need of money so they try to get it any way they can which includes identity theft. A person would probably need the other person’s name, birth date, and social security number to steal his or her identity. People should give out their credit/debit card number to anyone or their social security number to anybody to protect them from identity theft. I think the both, the person who is stealing the identity and who the victim is, is at fault because the victim should be responsible and know what to do with their credit card, but also the person who is stealing because they know they shouldn’t be doing it.

3. They would need your personal social security number, and their account numbers to their bank account.
4. be careful on what and where you buy stuff online. Also when your using a ATM make sure no one is standing close to you.
5. I think its really both because the person that got their identity stolen they must have not been covering it well. Also the person that stole the identity was being rude and not caring what would happen to that person.
